What are the laws in Michigan regarding work travel?
My daughter works as a canvasser for a construction company. She has to be at the office at 9:00 am. From there, a group of employees take a company vehicle to a particular city and they spread out in the neighborhoods to solicit business. Usually they drive a good hour or more to these cities. My daughter only gets paid for the actual time she is going door-to-door and not for the time spent getting to and from these cities. She gets paid hourly, and the travel time takes a good 2-3 hours out of her day that she isn't getting paid for. Is this legal?
